I’ve had my Emac (macintosh 10.4.11) for about 4 years now. I’ve updated my software (in the update software option under the apple) and deleted some old things I didn’t need, like music and documents and pictures. But I want to make it work even better, as I need this computer to last at least 2 and a half more years.
Oh and if there’s a cheap way to do it, please emphasize that cause I am,bluntly, poor.
Thanks!
Get main menu and run maintenance scripts every month or so…

Basically, just treat it like a baby. I’m using an iMac 10.4.11, have been for two years now, I do tons of graphic design, video editing, parallels, documents, video, music, blah blah EVERYTHING on it, and it shows no signs of slowing down…but I treat it like a baby. Keep it up to date, run maintenance scripts, clear internet caches/history/cookies, etc. every now and then… And it wouldn’t hurt to have some antivirus (not necessary, but it definately doesn’t hurt, and it does especially good if your mac is networked with PC’s)…
