Is the Ibook G3 a good computer?
Saturday, November 14th, 2009I think I might be buying a apple Ibook g3.
Please list good things and bad things about it.
If you had this computer did you like it?
Some links to pages about the ibook G3.
Iv had mac Laptops for years, and yes, i find it a superior product to most pcs. Its solid like a rock, has tones of nifty features like a built in webcam, mic, one piece trackpad. A great, high resolution screen. The battery life is quite respectable. It does get a bit hot at times, but hardly noticeable.
Not to mention the OS ROCKS!!!

hi I am thinking of purchasing an Apple iBook G3/300 I think it is a year 2000 model, possibly even later.?
I want to know if this is a good computer (it’s the clamshell kind). (I need to learn web design on a Mac) and I’m going to get a great deal on this Laptop. Will I be able to use good web design software on this system? What else can you tell me about it? thank you Mac Users!!!
=)

No. Don’t do it.
The clamshells are ugly, slow and overheat easily.
They run power pc, which is the really old dodgy processor that mac’s used before they became popular.
As a general rule of thumb, anything Apple pre-2005, is bad.
And it won’t run good web design software.
If you’re interested, I’d suggest you have a look at some of the refurbished mac’s. These are mac’s which come at a cheaper price because they had a part of them which was defective. The defective part is replaced with a new one and the product is resold. Here’s the US refurbished Apple website: http://store.apple.com/us/browse/home/specialdeals/mac?mco=MTE3NjY
And here’s the page which talks about refurbishment processes (look on the left): http://store.apple.com/us/browse/home/specialdeals
Alternatively you could buy a clearance mac: http://store.apple.com/us/browse/home/specialdeals/clearance/mac?mco=Mjk1NDEwOQ
