Iv had mac Laptops for years, and yes, i find it a superior product to most pcs. Its solid like a rock, has tones of nifty features like a built in webcam, mic, one piece trackpad. A great, high resolution screen. The battery life is quite respectable. It does get a bit hot at times, but hardly noticeable.
Not to mention the OS ROCKS!!!

No. Don’t do it.
The clamshells are ugly, slow and overheat easily.
They run power pc, which is the really old dodgy processor that mac’s used before they became popular.

As a general rule of thumb, anything Apple pre-2005, is bad.
And it won’t run good web design software.

If you’re interested, I’d suggest you have a look at some of the refurbished mac’s. These are mac’s which come at a cheaper price because they had a part of them which was defective. i have an old imac g3 computer in blue. i just found it a few days ago and tried thinking if it could actually be useful for me. we have not used it in many, many years. i have the monitor and computer, but i was wondering if there are any new computers that i would be able to use with the monitor. i know the technology is way behind, but anything would be helpful thank you!

An iMac is an all-in-one computer where the computer and monitor is all one box.

They are great old computers and still work fine.

Any RGB monitor (including the new flat screen models) will work with the RAGE 128 video card in the G3 blue and white tower.

Hi, my daughter is in first grade, and her school uses Macs. I know nothing of them…really nothing. I would like to get her a used computer that she will be able to get some practice on. I cannot afford a new one. I’ve found some G3’s that are pretty cheap, but I want to make sure that it is not completely obsolete. I’ve seen Tiger, Panther, etc… Which should I look for? Yes a used G3 with Tiger would be acceptable I had the same problem in first grade because my school also uses mac’s but you can just buy that and it will help her a lot!
