I have 2 apple Powerbook G4 Laptops one is a 15" and the other is a 17". My 15" has Tiger, and the 17" has leopard. How can I transfer software apps like Word 2008, garage band, photoshop, and other software applications from my 15" to my 17"
I would say do a system backup to a firewire drive or USB etc. This could also be called an "Image" it basicly takes your whole system config and allows it to install… the only prblem i could see is that its Tiger to Leopard…. I can see that being a problem

I have an aluminum 15 inch Powerbook G4 1Ghz, 768 Mb ram, 80 GB hard drive, os 10.4, combo drive, 4 batteries (2 of which are at 100%, 1 at 85%), a radtech sleeve, apple mouse, power adapter and all other cables included with it. How much would that probably sell for on ebay. It is in very good condition with no scratches or dead pixels or anything.
I would sell it on ebay. Start the bidding at $ 300.00. Charge only $25.00-$35.00 shipping. Run the ad for 7 days and time it so it ends around 7:00PM Pacific time. Don’t put in a reserve and document the notebook well. Offer a DOA or 30 day money back warranty. You should get $750.00 on the low side and $950.00 on the high side.
My Apple 12 inch Powerbook G4 has become increasingly slow and its performance has really decreased in recent months…
1. What are some possible causes for this to be happening? My hard drive isn’t full, so my only explanation is i no longer have enough memory.
2. If i in fact don’t have enough memory. Is it possible to upgrade this on my own or will i have to take it somewhere and have it done for me?
You may be suffering from "bit rot"– a common (but not necc. proven) condition that refers to the fact that as you use your computer over time, bits of data are stored all over your hard drive. As your CPU works to find it all, you notice a slow down. The solution for this is to back up your data, reformat the hard drive, and reinstall everything.
As for RAM, your 12-inch Power G4 can take up to 1GB and you can replace this yourself. Depending on how old it is,
the is a door on the bottom of the Laptop, or, you will remove the keyboard to get to the RAM (a simple task).
I really want FreeFall but don’t want to pay 17.99 for it. So, does anyone know where I can download the FULL version for a mac Powerbook G4.

This video is the result of me having to replace a dead hard drive for a G4 and realizing there aren’t nearly as many videos showing the process.
I know it’s not the “perfect” demonstration setup, not even close – ideally I’d have a top-down view with the camera mounted on the ceiling, but at least you see EVERY step of the replacement visually, all the way to OSX installation. I’m a visual person so just reading about what needed to be done wasn’t giving me a clear idea of how much work it would take.
I hope it helps at least one person out there to have a better idea of what they are getting themselves into
Lastly I must mention http://www.ifixit.com/ because had it not been for THEIR helpful guide and website I doubt I would have been able to do this nearly as smoothly. Mad props to them for their wonderful step-by-step guides (with pictures)!
