How can I eject a disk in my Powerbook 4 when I am unable to get to main screen?
Sunday, November 22nd, 2009I have a disk in my powerbook 4 that I need to eject. But I cannot get it to start up properly to do it. The technician told me of a way if I could get the power on, but I forgot.
Any ideas?
I don’t have an eject button…help.
According to the Apple boot keys list, you should be able to press and hold F12 to eject the disc before boot (press power and immediately press and hold F12 until the disc pops out).
If that doesn’t work then turn he computer off and back on, right after the startup sound press and hold Command-O-F. After the "Welcome to Open Firmware" screen at the prompt type "eject cd" and press return. After the disc ejects type "mac-boot" and press return. Boot will continue.
