I want to know if a 220/240 to 110/120 VAC converter with a 50 watt limit will work for my Mac Powerbook G4 portable computer.

That depends on the model – the fastest one used a 58W battery while the slowest model used a 50W battrery.

One needs a more powerful transformer – 75W or 100W will handle the Laptop.
