Hi,
Bought this ibook just couple week back as used one.. My Ibook is G4 but the system had been upgraded to G5. I down loaded updates for MS Word and after that it, iBook, requires a pass word to restart. Not working on me.Pass word hint is not working on me either…really need hep from some one and would be really appreciated. Thanks
With regards,
JAS

First, it is not G5 that it has been updated to — that’s the name of a processor chip. Do you mean OSX 10.5?

Do you have the OSX disks it came with?
If you do, then you can boot the machine from the install disks (hold down "C" as the machine boots up) and one of the top menu options on the installer will be Utilities – select Reset Password and you can choose a new password.

If you don’t ask the seller to provide the disks, they should have come with the machine.
