Here’s my new PowerBook! Even though I love my little G4, it needs to shape up in the power department! My battery goes wakko (Animaniac geeks will laugh at that) all the time and the power adapter rarely charges the computer. So I’m probably going to be taking my little G4 in to my Apple Authorized Reseller or whatever they are called these days and have them take a look at it and see if a new battery/adapter is in charge. I wish my little PowerBook didn’t have these problems! GAH! Plus all technology hates me today, but that video is still in the editing portion so you should see it soon…

On a Mac G4 (Power PC, the white semi-hemi one) how do you open it up?

I have one of the semi-hemisphere white machines with flatscreen – a powermac 6.1. I got memory to add to it, but how do you open the damned thing? I understand it goes in the bottom, but I’ve never seen screws like that.

you have a user access plate that you remove using a philips screwdriver

Installing Leopard on iMac g4
Can I put Leopard on my Imac g4?

I just bought a Imac g4 online, but I am wondering why everyone is saying that you can out Leopard on it, and suddenly now you can’t, NOT SNOW leopard, but normal Leopard… The one I am getting is 800 MHZ and a 60 GB hard drive, if that isn’t enough I have another 60 GB hard drive also that is external that I can keep plugged into it, anyway, can I install Leopard on my Imac g4? If not is there anything I can do to upgrade it? I know there has to be, because If the Emac g4 can do it, the Imac can defiantly do it, lol

Minimum System Requirements
* Mac computer with an Intel, PowerPC G5, or PowerPC G4 (867MHz or faster) processor
* 512MB of memory
* DVD drive for installation
* 9GB of available disk space

The 9GB of disk space is for the basic installation. If you do all the Software Updates that are now available for it, you will need 20GB of disk space.
To squeeze Leopard onto a computer with 800MHz processor, use LeopardAssist, link below.
It will run faster with Tiger. If you don’t have any pressing need for Leopard, get Tiger.

Laptop Being Stolen
3 cameras and mac Powerbook laptop stolen! What do i do?

The police have been notified and fingerprints have been taken. This happened to 2 other people around the same time in my apt complex yesterday.
This is the worst thing that could happen to me. All my best camera equipment is gone! My Laptop is gone! These are all the things I need for my freelance work! What am I going to do?

this is not good for you or other persons in your building, if police are aware, that’s a good start, see for yourself if anyone else noticed anything, but if you don’t get it back, little can be done hopeful you used password programs to lock out other users, also if you have manuals and receipts, check those for serial numbers, to cross reference with, obviously you building is not secure and suggest upping security with cameras* or moving to more friendly neighbourhood, maybe while you’re still there, set up you own camera and secure with alarms, and watch everyone, also check with insurance for any information about recovery and/or reimbursement, and for now check with family and friends for spare computer to use,

*see if other people or building have cameras, and ask to view camera around that time,

How do I upgrade my G4 Powermac from 533 mhz to 2.0 ghz?

I just bought a G4 powermac, but I’m not familiar with Macs, only PCs. Can I upgrade my G4 533 mhz to at least a 1.25 ghz (for Final Cut Pro)? What parts should I get? Thanks a bunch.

You can’t just buy Mac G series processors like you can buy processors for PCs. That can’t be upgraded.

How do you connect your Laptop to your television?

So that I can see my desktop etc on my tv screen. My laptop is relatively new, I’ve had it about 8 months as is my tv..it’s not HD but is widescreen etc.
Do I need to buy a special cable or what?
Any help would be great, thanks!

You will need a VGA cable. After connecting them, press F4 or look for the monitor drawing.
