hey guys i cant find an apple ibook g4 for under 400…i have looked but i was wondering if anyone knows where i can get one or has one for sale.

eBay has Ibooks G4 that start from $300.

Powerbook G4 Upgrade!?

Ok i have a Powerbook g4 titanium, with 256mb of ram and a 500mhz Powerpc G4 processor. I would really like to upgrade this processor but unfortunately it is integrated into the motherboard. I’m wondering if it would be possible to get a motherboard from another Powerbook that has a better processor and put it in mine.

Nope. Beyond RAM and HD, Laptops are just not meant to be upgradeable.

Now matter how much you love it, don’t drop another dime into that machine. It’s just not worth the effort if you’re going to try to use it for any modern tasks.

Macintosh G4 Upgrade
Mac os 9……..?

I have a Mac os 10.4 (i think)
It’s an Ibook G4(if that has to do with anything)
and i got this computer game that
is VERY old
i’m talking 1994
and knowing macintosh, they come out with upgrades every 3 months
(exageration, but hey)
anyway, i can’t get the computer game to play without os 9 and they won’t let you download it offline. I tried downloading 9.1 and 9.2 so i could download 9.2.2 so i could use classics but none of it will work without just plain old os 9. Also, i got my computer used so it didn’t come with the Cd that includes classic support so i don’t know if i can get around that or if i’m going to have to buy the Cd that contains classic support. If you have ANY idea how to help PLEASE PLEASE HELP MEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The game came out during around 1st generation PPC or non-PPC Macs, and it was probably running on OS. 7 something.

Now you are talking about your Ibook G4, which came with OSX and Classic (9 something). You might be able to install 8.0 or 8.5 to be more compat with the game, but I’m not sure if that’d work (if you happen to find the OS installer).

BTW, what’s the name of the game?

Powerbook G4 take apart dissassembly

Here’s my new PowerBook! Even though I love my little G4, it needs to shape up in the power department! My battery goes wakko (Animaniac geeks will laugh at that) all the time and the power adapter rarely charges the computer. So I’m probably going to be taking my little G4 in to my Apple Authorized Reseller or whatever they are called these days and have them take a look at it and see if a new battery/adapter is in charge. I wish my little PowerBook didn’t have these problems! GAH! Plus all technology hates me today, but that video is still in the editing portion so you should see it soon…

PowerBook G4 Latch Fix

Used the Mini VGA Video out via an RCA/S-Video adapter plugged to an Easycap Video Capture USB adapter which was connected to my iMac. I had to run Windows in order to use the Easycap DC60 adapter. The RCA/S-Video adapter for my iBook outputs $h!**y video quality and I still need to work out the settings. But i couldn’t get better than this from the Ibook.

Stay tuned as I will upload gameplay of PS1, PS2, and possibly Sega Genesis games in the future.
