This is an upgrade I did to my Powermac G4 Mirror Disk Drive DP 1.42GHz Computer. I also added in some guitars to funny old apple song.

Macintosh G4 Upgrade
Mac os 9……..?

I have a Mac os 10.4 (i think)
It’s an Ibook G4(if that has to do with anything)
and i got this computer game that
is VERY old
i’m talking 1994
and knowing macintosh, they come out with upgrades every 3 months
(exageration, but hey)
anyway, i can’t get the computer game to play without os 9 and they won’t let you download it offline. I tried downloading 9.1 and 9.2 so i could download 9.2.2 so i could use classics but none of it will work without just plain old os 9. Also, i got my computer used so it didn’t come with the Cd that includes classic support so i don’t know if i can get around that or if i’m going to have to buy the Cd that contains classic support. If you have ANY idea how to help PLEASE PLEASE HELP MEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The game came out during around 1st generation PPC or non-PPC Macs, and it was probably running on OS. 7 something.

Now you are talking about your Ibook G4, which came with OSX and Classic (9 something). You might be able to install 8.0 or 8.5 to be more compat with the game, but I’m not sure if that’d work (if you happen to find the OS installer).

BTW, what’s the name of the game?

It’s pretty safe to say that this Mac Pro is my baby. However my Powerbook G4 will always have a special place in my iHeart! And since I cannot take the Mac Pro to college with me, I’ll still be using my Powerbook G4 on a regular basis.

Macbook pro 15inch (apple product)?

Hey guys i just browsing video on youtube and saw the same unboxing of the new mac book pro 15″ what i dizzy about is why one with a fully black glossy finish and one with a white/grey trim around the edge? (the one just like macbook air) i love the full glossy finish but i still hesitate to order it online from the store cause im scared that it may not delivery to me the full black glossy finish, any suggest about this 2 similar product but different design, Im in Australia. 5 stars, TYVM! =)

Nanosaur 2 Intro Gamplay on iBook G4

This is the Nanosaur 2 game that was bundled with my late 2004 iBook G4 1.2Ghz.

Used the Mini VGA Video out via an RCA/S-Video adapter plugged to an Easycap Video Capture USB adapter which was connected to my iMac. I had to run Windows in order to use the Easycap DC60 adapter. The RCA/S-Video adapter for my Ibook outputs $h!**y video quality and I still need to work out the settings. But i couldn’t get better than this from the iBook.

Stay tuned as I will upload gameplay of PS1, PS2, and possibly Sega Genesis games in the future.

Powermac G4 Upgrade

I recently acquired a Powermac G4 (Sawtooth) from a friend. I purchased a few parts, and upgraded the machine to Tiger because it originally ran OS 9. Thanks for watching.

Powermac G4 Upgrade
G4 Power Mac tower, can I upgrade the AGP graphics?

I recently bought a dual core 533 mhz G4 PowerMac tower and it has AGP for graphics and I was wondering if the graphics card were upgradagle in those type of computers?
I should have been more clear, I was wondering if I can upgrade the current AGP graphics card to a better AGP graphics card.

if your asking if you can upgrade it to a PCI-E no well not without replacing the motherboard which basically would be upgrading it but you might need a new CPU but i don’t know much about MACs but i do know you can’t change the adapter slots

Apple Powerbook G4 hard drive replacement

This video is the result of me having to replace a dead hard drive for a G4 and realizing there aren’t nearly as many videos showing the process.

I know it’s not the “perfect” demonstration setup, not even close – ideally I’d have a top-down view with the camera mounted on the ceiling, but at least you see EVERY step of the replacement visually, all the way to OSX installation. I’m a visual person so just reading about what needed to be done wasn’t giving me a clear idea of how much work it would take.

I hope it helps at least one person out there to have a better idea of what they are getting themselves into

Lastly I must mention http://www.ifixit.com/ because had it not been for THEIR helpful guide and website I doubt I would have been able to do this nearly as smoothly. Mad props to them for their wonderful step-by-step guides (with pictures)!

Apple Powerbook G4 hard drive replacement
How hard is it to replace the Hard Drive on an Apple G4 laptop?

I may be in the market for a G4 laptop – either an iBook or Powerbook. I[’m not interested in screen size or processor speed or wireless access (I won;t be paying much). I am concerned that Apple didn’t design the G4 laptops to make hard drive replacement something that any user can replace.

I have heard contradictory suggestions about whether or not hard drives on any G4 Ibooks or Powerbooks can be replaced by the user, whether this can be done w/o at least a semi-complete tear down of the laptop and whether there’s a reasonable chance that the owner would kill the laptop even trying.

So

Has anybody tried this? If so, what was your experience? How well did it go? How skilled are you? responses much appreciated
I’ve replaced ram, cpu’s and hard drives on windows notebooks without any problem, so that should give you frame of reference as to what I’m used to.

Here’s the thing about your question. I’ve repaired thousands of laptops and so for me it’s no big deal taking out screws and keeping track of them and making sure that I’m not carrying around a static charge in my body that I’m going to carelessly discharge into some circuitry and zap it.

I think that it’s fairly simple but that’s “for me”.

If someone lacks the basic electro-mechanical skills and knowledge to replace something like a hard drive in a Laptop then they could make any number of mistakes like trying to put the signal cable in wrong and bending pins or damaging the unit while trying to disassemble it or something like that.

So it really depends upon the individual and their background and experience and talents as to “how hard” it is to replace the Hard Drive on an Apple G4 laptop.

Of course, after you replace the Hard Drive you have to be able to install Apple operating software on it. So that’s another level of skill and knowledge necessary for this procedure. Do you know, or can you follow the instructions for, how to install Apple software on a new Hard Drive?

Why won’t my Apple Powerbook G4 battery charge past 70%?

I have an Apple Powerbook G4 15inch running a 1.67 ghz processory. Whenever I charge the battery it will not go past 70%. I just installed a new hard drive, and before it was running on the last hard drive with OS X 10.4.11 installed it would not charge past exactly 80%.

Is there a setting I can change or something? It seems like it’s going down in 10% increments but doesn’t make sense that a battery would do this. Has anyone heard of this before?

The battery can’t be more than 5 months old and has only been put to light use. It was a purchased replacement for the original battery that was so drained it was useless.

Any suggestions on how to fix this? Or is my battery really just dying 10% at a time…?

If it’s less than 6 months old, you might be able to take it to the store. Go to (Apple sign) –> About this mac –> More Info –> Power in the left tab. If you see the cycle count is less then 300 you will be able to take it in for a repair. Heck if you get lucky, you can get a new MacBook ^.^
